IMAGING SERVICES/EXAMS

Hospital de Santa Maria – Porto has a modern Imaging Service that contemplates the main diagnosis exams, with state of the art technology: Magnetic Resonance (1.5T), Computerised Axial Tomography, Multislice, Sonography, Eco Doppler, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Digital Radiology, Orthopantomography and Dentascan, Biopsies and Drainage.

This service is available and supports all Hospital’s medical appointments.

PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE

Hospital de Santa Maria – Porto Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine Unit is a service of reference in the north of Portugal. It is assured by a team of Clinical and Physiotherapists specialized in Orthopaedics, Traumatology, Sports Medicine, Respiratory Diseases and post-surgery rehabilitation. The service’s facilities include the rehabilitation of neurological, degenerative and paediatric diseases.

Apart from the Hydrotherapy heated pool, the facilities include Physiatrist and Speech Therapy, respiratory kinesiotherapy cabinets, hydrotherapy cabinets, gym and individual treatment cabinets.

ACCIDENTS APPOINTMENT

Hospital de Santa Maria – Porto, having more than a century experience in Accidents Appointments, offers integral treatment to the injured patient: from diagnosis exams to various medical appointments, surgery, hospitalization and mental and physical recovery. Whether it is a work accident, a driving accident or civil responsibility accident, the Hospital is available to help in all the process. An experienced administrative team helps in all the bureaucratic and administrative process of the injured patient.

Our Operating Theatre is one of the most modern and recent in the country, putting itself in the forefront in pre-operating excellence healthcare. Is has 6 Surgery Rooms fully equipped with the latest technology and a Recovery Unit with 12 beds.

The Operating room is the heart of the new Hospital de Santa Maria, fully equipped with the latest technology and gifted with a great bridge system, pioneer in Portugal.

INPATIENT CARE

Hospital de Santa Maria – Porto has 7 hospitalization units with a total of 158 beds in private and shared bedrooms. They are equipped with air conditioning, telephone, television and adapted bathrooms to patients with reduced mobility.

Humanizing health care is the main concern of the nurses and nursing auxiliary’s teams, who work daily to assure the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay in the Hospital.
